With a heavy head Alex woke up this morning. “Must be the result of last night’s drinking” he murmured as he shoved his duvet aside and walked to the bathroom. He spent more time than usual in the shower and used quite warm water with hope that the ache in his muscles will ease. “Must be the result of too much dancing” he thought. Alex knew the too much party and drinking lifestyle is not doing him any favour, still he went to the parties, drank, danced and occasionally had sex with the girls he met at the bar. Once he had thought that such life would give him pleasure as he did not have to take any responsibility and he can have as much fun as he wanted. He could not lie that he did not have any expectation from such lifestyle. He wanted happiness but did he really get it? “No” he spoke loudly in the shower. He knew he is a coward. He never managed to actually face himself in the mirror and fight his inner demons. He just did what his friends and colleagues did. He simply went with the flow. And he is still flowing.

He finished showering and get out of the bathroom with a towel draped in his lower body. The hangover still hung there and that pissed him off. “What a morning!” he thought “A massive hangover with body ache. Nice!”  After quickly dressing in a casual Capri and Topshop t-shirt he got out of his apartment. He lived in one of the busiest places in North London called Wood Green. He liked the area because it had all the amenities one can think of – cinema, shopping mall, supermarkets, gym, restaurants, etc. He wanted to lose himself amongst the crowd with hope that he might find some relief from the emptiness he feels deep inside. “What should I do today?” he asked himself while walking towards the tube station. Being Sunday afternoon the streets were bussing with people. Some were busy selling their products in the street market beside the co-operative bank , some were busy preaching the teachings of Jesus or Allah, couples were busy making out in public as if there is no tomorrow, singles were browsing shops and  families were out to do their weekly shopping. One Black guy was spreading leaflets and gave one to him. He politely took it considering that he would probably toss in the dustbin on his way to the restaurant. For some odd reason he wanted to read the leaflet. “A Sunday Market at the Famous Alexandra Palace Park Showcasing Local Produce and Crafts” read the headline. It has been ages he went to the park although it was only 20 minutes walk from where he lived. “OK, I will go to the park today and check out the market. It will be a good way to pass my Sunday and maybe will help get rid of the hangover” Alex decided. But first he needed a good cup of Cuppachino as he was extremely thirsty. He walked to the Costa coffee shop next to the tube station and bought a large Cuppachino takeaway and started walking towards the park.

There are a lot of great cities in the world; Paris, Tokyo, Dubai, or probably some small town around the coastline of Italy. Believe me, none of them match the great city of Charleston in South Carolina which has a multi-cultural population of 127,999. This awe some city is well known for its exquisite cuisines, warm weather and wonderful people. Charleston has been voted the best city in the world, ahead of all the renowned capitals around the globe, through this year’s Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards. It has also nabbed the best small city in the states, for the fifth time in a row

Charleston is a city that was founded many years ago and has witnessed the development of the nation as a whole. In fact, it is the oldest city in the country! It was founded as an English colonial seaport in 1670 and grew into a wealthy city by the year 1750, mostly depending on agriculture and seaport trade. The city has withstood civil wars and rebuilt itself from it. Its heritage is so rich because whenever the buildings were damaged from the war, they were repaired and not replaced – every brick has a story to tell. Making the landmarks very iconic.

Every year, close to 4.5 million people come to Charleston to tour the majestic town and I bet there is always one thing in their mind they have to try before leaving: food. The best gastronomies you will ever have, prepared in a way that will make your buds explode with pleasure. From the ever-merry dockside roasts and high-end restaurants to outdoor cafes. Every meal is a memory. Prepared with flawless finishing. Served with a smile that can warm your heart. All you have to do is dig in!

Charleston Restaurant Week

Charleston is well known for the oyster delicacies and no other place in the city prepares it like the Oyster House on Market Street, made by none other than Chef Tony Palmisano, Charleston’s seafood guru. If you want a more serene and fine environment around the city, Cannon Green, hosted by Chef Amalia Scatena, offers a fashionable, Mediterranean touch to the Lowcountry seasonal cuisine using fresh, local ingredients. They also offer a wide variety of wine, all under one roof.

Charleston is known for its wide coastline beaches and very, very fine white sands. Isle of Palms is the farthest beach from downtown. Along its beach you’ll see the well maintained upscale condos. Most of them are gated so they are never crowded most parts of the year. Sullivan’s Island is not very far off as well, just 15 to 20 minutes away by vehicle. It is a flat-landscaped beach with lovely homes and sleep-ins, exclusive bars and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy the view. The beach houses Fort Moultrie, an ancient defensive fort during the revolutionary and civil war era.

Charleston City Market is one of the most visited places by both visitors and locals in downtown Charleston. Always busy with shoppers and sightseers, it is open 7 days a week, all year, displaying local vendors, special crafts and fine take away spots. If you happen to be downtown, stop by to buy souvenirs or snacks, or just pass by for a stroll.

Charleston 3

Finally, among the very many things to do and see in the great Charleston City, just across downtown is the Patriots Point naval history’s most treasured showpiece: a World War II aircraft called the USS Yorktown. Visitors of all ages like to roam around the ship, which has 13 decks and is 888 feet long. It was commissioned in Virginia in 1943. As you wander through the decks, you’ll see 26 naval aircrafts docked. This majestic piece of art brings visitors from all walks of life.

Charleston City is a place full of awe and wonder. It is the place to be for holiday and excursions, bringing people together from different parts of the world. There is a reason it is the best city in the world. Come and see for yourself why!

Boosting metabolism simply means the chemical processes by which your cells produce the substances and energy needed to sustain life. How fast one’s body burns calories, plays a role in losing weight. According to Robert Reames, CSCS, CN, CPT, boosting your metabolism means more than just exercising. Everything has a role from what you are eating to how much sleep you get. There are some quick and easy diet and lifestyle changes you can make to boost metabolism. They include;

  1. Interval training

Interval training is basically varying the speeds and intensity through your workout session. This is recommended as the best metabolism booster. It involves incorporating more intense and less intense exercises during a workout for a bigger metabolism boost.

Micheal Bracko,Ed., FACSM, said high intensity interval training can boost metabolism and accelerate weight loss. During this period, a person consumes more oxygen than in slower, distance exercise. For example you can jog for 5 minutes as you warm up your body then increase speed as you run and then jog for a few minutes. You can continue with the process for about 20 minutes. After such an intense session, you should be dripping sweat in excess. If you are not into running you can as well take brisk walks decreasing the pace with slow walks repeatedly carrying out the exercise.

It’s advisable to adopt Interval training if you have been exercising before.

  1. Eat enough

Most people have a perception that, if you want to lose some fat or weight, the easiest way is to starve their bodies which is actually wrong. If you take in too few calories, it can cause your body to lose muscle mass decreasing the rate of your metabolism. They key point to consider is moderation, too much and too little is not recommended as the body requires food to function. Quality and quantity of foods have greater bearing on metabolism than how often one eats.

Depriving your body food, can lead to nutritional deficiencies as the body is getting less food overall. In such cases one can be weak or even become anorexic due to denying oneself food. It is advisable that you eat healthy foods to ensure that there is some in the system that can be digested. Lack of eating can lead to an ulcer which is the lining of the stomach being chewed on by the acids due to absence of food. If you greatly reduce food intake, your body breaks down muscles and use it for energy, hence keeping stored fat. Plan to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with snack breaks in between. Eating after every three hours prevents you from getting hungry hence reduces your chances of over eating, or grabbing something just because it is available.

  1. Eat breakfast

According to a study published by American Society for clinical nutrition, people who eat a hearty breakfast have a much easier time controlling their food intake than people who skip the morning meal. A breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day. It literally means breaking your body’s overnight fast.

Making healthful choices for breakfast can help one to make healthier choices for the day. Having a busy day does not necessarily mean that you should grab a sugary donut as sugars as they will make you hungry within a shorter period. Eating oatmeal, fruits, yoghurts with sugarless coffee and tea etc for breakfast is a healthy way to kick starts your day rather than gobbling down fatty foods such as donuts etc.

  1. Plenty of sleep-Key to metabolism

The main function of sleep is to restore your body’s central nervous system. Some people get so much engrossed into work that they end up sleeping for lesser hours hence depriving their bodies of enough rest. Sleep deprivation revs up appetite-stimulating hormones hence leads to sluggish metabolism.

Depriving your body sleep affects the body’s sensitivity to the insulin that is required to turn the food to energy needed for your body. You can set an alarm to sleep at least 6 hours and if it bids you to wake up early then it’s advisable to sleep earlier than the usual time that you normally sleep.

A study in the medical journal “PLOS” determined that a lack of sleep increases ghrelin and decreases leptin which affects ones metabolism by increasing your appetite as the brain fails to signal that you are full leading to extra calories and potential weight gain.

  1. Avoid stress

Stress affects hormone levels that increase one’s body metabolism. Epinephrine and cortisol are stress hormones responsible for weight gain or loss. Cortisol increases your metabolism but makes you hungrier hence you might eat more to compensate, hence make you gain weight.

To avoid stress, laugh often and take on some exercises like taking walks, run or even doing house chores while listening to high volume music.

  1. Drink plenty of water

German researchers found that drinking 6 cups of cold water a day can raise the resting metabolism by about 50 calories daily. It’s widely recommended that you should take at least 8 – 12 ounce glasses daily. Taking plenty of water gives one that illusion that they are full, hence being prevented from overeating at meal times.

The increase in metabolism may come from the work it takes to heat the water to body temperatures. A single glass may not amount to much but if you make it a habit, it can add up to pounds lost with minimal additional efforts. Staying hydrated keeps your body balanced and helps you to be in tune with your internal senses of need.

  1. Eat foods with omega -3

It is an essential fatty acid necessary for your body but not produced in the body but can only be consumed via food or supplements. Some of the omega – 3 foods include oily fish (salmon, tuna), walnuts and soy foods. Anne Kluze, M. D says that omega – 3 fats play a crucial role in fat burning. Omega – 3 reduces insulin levels hence promotes weight loss.

High insulin levels in your body contribute to fat being stored in your body instead of being burned. According to Mark Hyman M.D, he says that omega – 3 balances your blood sugar and speeds up your metabolism. Omega – 3 is a proactive way to support weight loss and improve your overall health and well being.

  1. Drink green tea

Green tea contains catechins, a type of antioxidant that triggers the release of fat from fat cells and helps speed up the liver’s capacity for turning fat into energy. Researchers found that people who drank three to five cups daily for three months shaved 5 percent off their body weight. Rania Batayneh, a nutritionist says that green tea contains ECGC, a plant compound that stimulates your metabolism.

Green tea, in a study, appeared to raise metabolic rates and speed fat oxidation. Abdul G. Dulloo, says that green tea has thermogenic properties and promotes fat oxidation beyond that explained by its caffeine content. Thermo genesis is the calories the body burns while digesting and absorbing food as its being eaten.

  1. Increase protein intake

Increasing your protein intake increases your metabolism hence helps to maintain muscle mass thus fat is burnt. The body digests more calories when you take proteins than carbs or fats. A research study shows that, many dieters gain muscle mass without working out, simply by eating a high protein diet. Eating protein does not necessarily make one to lose weight but rather helps you to burn more calories more so if paired with regular exercise.

Eating more protein gives one’s body amino acids which constitute to muscle mass. Increasing the muscle mass allows you to burn more calories. Adding protein to the diet with regular exercising helps you increase muscle mass thus enhancing your metabolism.

The act of digesting protein therefore boosts your metabolism more than nutrients.

  1. Eating chilies

Chilies contain a compound called capsaicin which produces the heat in them which literally fires your metabolism i.e. it stimulates the body to burn energy and create heat hence burning off fat. Research states that it can add weight loss by speeding up metabolism.

Eating fatty foods is a temptation that many people fail to resist from hence adding chili to the foods so that it can help breakdown the fats hence avoid weight gain.

University of Wyoming researchers found that the compound capsaicin stimulates the body to burn energy and create heat thus burning off calories in the process. Hence they deduced that the compound induces the “bad” white fat to become good energy- burning brown fat and also stimulates the body to create heat.

The 10 ways discussed above are just but some of the ways that one can adopt to increase the metabolism rate. There are other foods not necessarily with omega -3 that can also boost metabolism and increase fat loss that I have not discussed .There are other lifestyle choices that you can adopt with the help of a health expertise personnel.

There are plenty of tools and platforms on the Web that can be used for marketing, some of which may be too obvious but effective if well exploited. The most important factor to consider is capturing your target audience and offering them something that they value and make them dig further. The following are some of the technologies that can keep you one step ahead in expanding your market base.

Email

Email marketing is the key to digital marketing. You must, however, get permission from your users to email them so as to avoid spamming of your content. Send just the valuable content suited to capture the interest of the user. It takes more than one click of a few enticing words to close a sale. Email marketing is good because it will help you stay connected with the potential customers and prospects who would like further contact from you.

Use of the Search Engine

This involves search engine optimization (SEO) to get top-notch search listings for your content and paid search ads like the Google AdWords. Most users (including B2B buyers) use the search as part of their work. So these people need to see you when they are searching for what you are selling. For the search ads, you have to optimize your keywords, put offers, direct them to the websites you want them to find your product and track the people downstream if you integrate your Google AdWords data with your Google Analytics data and CRM; so that you know not just which ads are clicked on the most but which ads lead to the most opportunities and revenue. SEO doesn’t just involve technical enhancements, but also creating high-quality content which is ranked highly by Google.

Conversion Optimization

Conversion optimization is the practice of getting users who visit your website to engage them actively with tasks that you have set for them. These tasks include filling out forms so that you may end up with their email address. Statistically, 4% of people visiting an online ad fill out forms; use of conversion optimization can make it rise to 8%. Appetizing offers or marketing apps created by capable companies get conversion rates that are way higher. To more get users to your website, ensure you convert as many of them as possible.

Mobile

Most users open their mail with smartphones and soon most searches shall be done through mobile. All websites should, therefore, be mobile friendly. Very few websites are (33 percent). As a designer or online marketer, ensure your site is easy to read or use on a phone. If you do not, Google fines you with lower mobile search rankings. After making your site mobile friendly, your next step is now setting up mobile search advertising and other means of mobile marketing. To make a site compatible with your smartphone, use the responsive design. That will automatically resizes the website to fit the device which is being viewed. To see if your site is responsive, it automatically resizes itself depending on the resolution of your device.

A man’s home is his castle, and at every castle’s heart should be a throne. With this sentence alone, leaning towards exaggeration as it may seem, the reason why gamer’s love gaming chairs should become more or less apparent.

Even with that said some further exploration might be required, yes? Right then, let’s get into it. Here are three unassailably logical reasons why a gamers’ chair is nothing to play around with.

  1. Posture really matters

The issue of posture has been beaten into our collective consciousness since the early 90’s; when office-types began to manifest the adverse effects of long hours spent hunched over computers. It’s the exact same consideration that prompts gamers to love gaming chairs. It might be likened to the difference between flying coach and flying first class – yeah, you’ll get to your destination just as quickly either way, but, truth be told, that’s the only thing the two scenarios have in common.

  1. Greater gaming experience

Games have come a long way in terms of design, graphics, and the level of storytelling they employ. A major factor eliciting a gamer’s love of gaming chairs is simple; they allow for a more complete, more authentic, and more visceral immersion into the stunning world games are able to present us nowadays.

It wouldn’t quite seem right if you were to step into a spanking new Ferrari to find the seating is something you last saw in your grandma’s dining room, now, would it?

  1. Going the long haul

Have you ever been inside a big rig? Those massive eighteen–wheeler trucks favored for long–distance hauling? No? Well, neither have I to be honest, but I’ve watched enough television to confidently state here that the chairs in those things are the comfiest looking things you’ll get to see anywhere. In addition, they come across as being very obviously designed for optimum functional efficiency; making it as easy as possible for the truck drivers to reach every knob, lever, pedal or switch they might need to in the course of their travels.

The same concept in application explains many a gamers’ love of gaming chairs. When in the middle of a long-running game campaign; comfort, convenience and efficiency might very well be what determines your staying power. This encompasses your ability to keep your mind on the game and your reflexes sharp. Many a time, this is what separates the winners from everybody else. We all know which side we want to be on.

When traveling to Spain Barcelona is an obvious must see, must enjoy; and you will enjoy.

Nestled along the Catalonian coast of Spain, Barcelona represents a happy marriage between the old works and new age. Old world legends Pablo Picasso and Antoni Gaudi blend colorful with Catalonian modernism seen in the art and architecture of the city. Old world Cathedrals line the gothic streets and the serine bells can be heard chiming as you get happily lost through the winding alleyways of the city.

Barcelona is as beautiful and rich historically as it is within the gastronomic world. Described by Anthony Bourdain as some of the best food in the world, this Catalonian city is full of the best in Spanish food, wildly delicious blends of world cuisine and fusion restaurants with dishes as beautiful as they are tasty. You can enjoy tapas with fresh sea food brought in same day and order wine that is so good you won’t believe the small price tag. It’s all about quality over quantity here, and even when you find yourself full from appetizers, tapas, entrees and sangria you will somehow find room for the best donuts in the world (yes, the world) here in the many bakeries who showcase them on main streets and within alleys 2 for 1.20€.

When you visit this incredible city you’ll want to plan most of your days with historic sites like the Picasso Museum in El Born, visiting the many churches and cathedrals like the Sangrada Familia and through the Gothic Quarter. Take a trip to Park Güell, Casa Batlló, Montjuïc and gaze into its magic fountain as you walk along the colorful, vibrant streets. With so much to do and see remember to leave a day (or two, depending how long you stay) to just simply wander! You never know what famous restaurant you’ll turn up on or what incredible view you’ll catch in between old world apartment buildings.

In case you’re still longing for suggestions here are just a few of the best sites Barcelona has to offer.

Sites – Cathedrals

  1. Gothic Quarter walking tour
  2. Sangrada Familia
  3. Santa Maria del Mar
  4. Barcelona Cathedral

You have decided it is time to attend graduate school to earn your masters in Social Work. You have your personal statement written, your transcripts sent and your application filled out. The last things you need to collect are your letters of recommendation. Before asking your top choices for their recommendation, read this over to make sure you made the correct choice and make sure you are able to proofread prior to submitting.

  1. Choose the correct people to write your letter of recommendation. Make sure they know you. To ask your Dean or head of yurt department in which you have met twice does not know you well enough to write your letter. Choose a former lecturer or your advisor. They know the work you put in and will put the work into your letter of recommendation.
  2. Do not write it for them and have them sign it. The school will be able to recognize the tone in bot your personal statement that is in your letter of recommendation. If the person is too busy to write it, then they are not worth asking. If you invested in them, then they should invest in you.
  3. Give plenty of examples. Admissions loves to read antidotes that set you apart from other applicants. Do not just say ‘Bob is a smart student’. Instead, write ‘Bob is at the top of his class and is very dedicated to his studies’. To see that you are top of your class according to your advisor will set you apart from others.
  4. Do not be vague, do not use plain language. If you are only ‘the student’ then how will you stand out? Make sure they use your name frequently through the reference. Make sure their vocabulary is heightened, but make sure it is used correctly. To have a professional reference use a word incorrectly makes you and they look bad.
  5. Too many positive words. If it looks as though they opened up a thesaurus and looked up the word ‘great’ and put as many variations in it as possible. You can only be great and stupendous in so many things before the reader becomes bored reading your letter of recommendation.
  6. Contradicting your applications theme. You said you want to work with the elderly, whole your letter of recommendation states you want to work with children. Well, which is correct? Make sure your advisor knows what population you want to work with prior to writing.
  7. The use of positive negatives. Do you work too hard? Or perhaps too hard on yourself! They do not want to see that you are stressed prior to starting your master’s degree. If you are unable to handle undergrad, then own do they expect you to keep a level head in graduate school? Make sure to keep the negatives out and only allow positive statements. Stress is not welcome here.

It is good to seek out advice prior to writing your UCAS personal statement for social work, or any other degree. To think of only 6 facts you should know is quite limited, as there are many facts you should know. As always, write your personal statement to show a bit of you in it, but also follow the advice given to you.

  1. Do not plagiarize. It is supposed to be your original work. How can they read about you, when you have taken someone else’s work and ideas? Then it is not your personal statement. Also, be careful since the statement is submitted online, the school may have a way to check to see if the work is original or not. Lastly, what if the person whose work you stole wanted to go into a different Scot of social work? Your application, personal statement and letters of recommendation would not match up. Then what?
  2. Lying is not allowed in your personal statement in social work. If you never volunteered at a care facility or interned at a retirement home, they do have a way of finding out. Your letter of recommendation would not match the places listed on your personal statement. Think twice before trying to beef it up.
  3. Applying late is not acceptable. If it is not in, then it shows that you did not care to submit in time and that there are other things that are more important. To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late and to be late is to be dead.
  4. Be clear. The admissions team want to know why. If you are unable to answer why clearly, then how can you expect to be accepted into the program? Explain, clearly and counsel why you want to go into social work. Use simple language to get your point across if necessary.
  5. Be enthusiastic. Women often write like we speak. If you are passionate about your application, then it will be reflected in your personal statement. It shows you care and you are excited to continue onto the next path in your education. Tell them why you want to study. Tell them how social work makes you feel. Enthusiasm will separate you from everyone else. Believe me.
  6. Do your research. If you think, but you do not know, then do not include it. Only write well researched facts you learned in school and facts you know about the university you are applying to. If the program is relatively new, do not make a statement that you have been dreaming of attending the program for your whole life. Not a good idea.

I hope these facts and titbits have helped you out while writing your personal statement in social work. Go over everything carefully and be sure to proofread once done writing. I am sure it will stand out when submitted.

The simplest explanation of apnea is that it’s a medical condition when a person makes pauses in breathing during the sleep. Besides that, breathing seems shallow and interrupted, with snoring between pauses. And that’s usually very loud and annoying snoring. Those pauses can be short and take a piece of a second, but can take very long time.

That can be very dangerous. The long break between breaths tends to stop someone breathing during the sleep. The person literally can suffocate. After the pause is finished, a person take a deep breath (because the organism is empty and feel stressed due to break in breathing); which can be followed with the ugly and loud sound of snoring.

A major problem in treating apnea is common believing that snoring is not a big problem. That is why the person avoids visiting the doctor. Even the person snore and its family complain about it. Snoring basically doesn’t cause apnea, but can be a very important symptom of it. Sometimes it shows that person’s life is practically in danger. That’s why is threatening of apnea starts from an understanding of the snoring and learning about the causes of it.

Snoring is a condition which people usually tend to ignore and make fun of it. Even family and partner find it very annoying and disturbing; this condition basically is not harmful, except for the married people who must live with the partner who snores. Otherwise, nobody else realizes how dangerous snoring can be. But, it is dangerous. When snoring is followed by apnea it can cause death. So, if you’ve know that you snore; you should consider the possibility of having apnea.

Do you remember children’s comic books when everybody who sleeps has the cloud with the letter „Z“ on the top of the head?

According to scientists, half of the population on the world snore. It’s possible that you or your partner snores. As a matter of fact, if you’ve never heard your partner snoring, you should consider the possibility that you are the one who snore… And, there is a very big chance that you or your family knows how sound of snoring looks like. Practically, every home has someone who snores.

In normal condition, snoring is just a sound of turbulence and resistance in the upper airway. Snoring can look like that it comes from the nose, but that’s a mistake. It’s actually formed in the back of airway, behind the tongue, usually because of the stricter oropharynx. All of these happen during the sleep when the airway is relaxed and the person doesn’t control breathing. This usually happens during the REM phase of the sleep, when your dream is deepest.  Upper airway becomes tight and smaller than usual; air, passing through the airway, causes vibrating of the soft tissues behind the tongue.

There are many factors that cause snoring, from age (elder snore more often than younger people), over the sex to the weight. Obesity people has more chance for a problem with snoring. There are also other causation like drinking alcohol or un-comforted position during the sleep. Those causation are permanent and stop after the changing of the position or bad habits.

If you found that every night is time for the “music” which comes from you, you should ask yourself do you have this disorder. Even the condition is usually taken as “normal” or “very often”, this condition is a very reliable symptom of sleeping apnea. And doctor should consider it and take all steps needed to examine the person and find the best cure.

Especially if some other symptoms are present, like repeated pauses in breathing during the day, excessive daytime sleepiness or loud and short inhaling during sleep, you are maybe a person with sleeping apnea.

Sleeping apnea is an actually chronic condition which doesn’t mean that it’s incurable, but interrupts the sleep and cause serious problems with the persons’ life quality. Those persons usually have short breath and poor concentration. Sometimes they have very obvious slow reflexes. They can’t fall in deep sleep or if they can they very easy wake-up and sleep poor and light. The consequences are obviously tiredness which leads to increased risk of accidents, prolonged stress, and many other sicknesses after a while. Even in daily sleeping a person can’t relax and fall into sleep.

Sometimes this problem is detected on regular doctor’s examination. And sometimes a person comes to the doctor because of problems with someone others sleeping. It’s not unusual to see someone’s wife in doctor’s office to ask for a help or advice.

The person who has sleeping apnea episodes during the sleep has a problem with oxygen level in the blood, which drops from time to time while the breathing stops. That’s why brain must wake up that person with a characteristic choking sound. A person, who was in sleep a second ago, usually doesn’t remember that sound or interrupted breathing and fall in sleep again. This type is called obstructive sleep apnea. The other type is central sleep apnea when a person does remember awakenings and that shocking during the sleep is something which is aware of.

If you have any of these symptoms go to your doctor:

  • Snoring, loud and unpleasantly every night
  • Gasping and choking during the sleep
  • Short of long pauses in breathing
  • Feeling short of breath during the night or after the shockingly waking up
  • Constantly feeling of tiredness, daytime sleepiness, and fatigue

There are some other symptoms which you may consider:

  • A sore throat and dry mouth every time after waking up
  • Nighttime awakenings and insomnia
  • Frequently going to the bathroom during the night
  • A headache in the morning
  • Impotence
  • Restless together with the fitful sleep
  • Depression with unusual moodiness and irritability

It’s especially dangerous if apnea is found in children, but it’s very easy to recognize in them. They sleep in strange positions, have perspiration at night, suffer from bed-wetting, have night terrors and loudly snore. In this case, if you suspect on sleeping apnea you immediately must go to the pediatrician who will do all important examines.

People are usually afraid of this condition once when they found out that they have it, but that is not something you should be scared of. There are many different and very successful ways for curing sleep apnea so you don’t need to worry about the resolving the problem you may have. Some of the very easy ways of curing apnea are:

  • Weights lose – if the doctor finds that you are obesity person, he will recommend weight loss as the first step in curing sleep apnea. That’s very easy to detect, just with measuring the person’s weight and finding the BMI as the comparison of someone’s weight, height, and age. There is a very obvious connection between obesity and sleep apnea, so the doctor will firstly consider that.
  • Surgical – when all other problems are solved and the person still has a problem, the doctor will recommend a surgeon. Besides the potentially surgically resolving a problem with obesity; the doctor can also operate upper airway where the stenosis is found and free airway for normally breathing.

If the problem with sleeping apnea is not that big and the person doesn’t have an anatomic problem in the body, he can learn some easy home methods for curing sleeping apnea.
